Onus is on P5+1 to 'Scrupulously' Impose Deal on 'Sneaky' Iranians (Al Madina, Saudi Arabia)

"What is required of the countries that signed the agreement with Iran is that they see to it that its provisions are very scrupulously, extremely transparently and credibly implemented, taking into account the interests and security of the countries neighboring Iran. It must be clear to Tehran in no uncertain terms that any evasiveness or deception will lead to dire consequences, because if nuclear genie is released from its bottle, no one will be able to stop it, as it is the right of every country to protect its security, its stability, and the welfare of its people."

Saudi Arabia – Al Madina – Original Article (Arabic)

If the purpose of the signing of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, then it is an important and welcomed event, particularly if it is accompanied by guarantees and assurances to limit and restrain the evil Iranian tendency to take advantage of treaty provisions. We refer to the likelihood that the Iranians will seek loopholes to achieve its military interests, expand on its goal of exerting hegemony and spread its influence throughout this sensitive region of the world.

Tehran - based on the trajectory of events and facts on the ground – is tending toward its usual sneakiness and obscurity. This is clear, given the arduous negotiations undertaken by the major powers. As for us in the Arab world and particularly in the Gulf, this agreement should in no way come at the expense of security in the Gulf or the wider Arab world, nor should it open the door wide to Iranian swaggering in the region.

These concerns don't emerge out of a vacuum. Tehran's behavior and gamesmanship in Iraq and Syria, its malicious plans in Yemen and support for its agents and other evil forces in more than one an Arab country is obvious to all and requires no further proof.

Given this situation, the agreement needs to be ring fenced with essential guarantees, including the non-militarization of Iran's nuclear program, forcing Tehran to end its interference in the region and removing itself from Syria, Iraq and Yemen. Just as necessary is its non-interference in the domestic affairs of the Gulf countries, particularly Bahrain, and an end to the Iranian occupation of the UAE's islands [Abu Musa and Greater and Lesser Tunbs in the Persian Gulf]. If Iran genuinely wants to be part of this regional space and build friendly and brotherly relations based on mutual respect, mutual benefit and the furtherance peace and security, it must abide by these conditions.

Iran, however, has no intention of applying these concepts. It simply wants to spread the "Guardianship of the Jurist" (Wilayat al Fakeeh) and destabilize countries in order to control them and extend its influence. This is unacceptable and will be fiercely opposed.

What is required of the countries that signed the agreement with Iran is that they see to it that its provisions are very scrupulously, extremely transparently and credibly implemented, taking into account the interests and security of the countries neighboring Iran. It must be clear to Tehran in no uncertain terms that any evasiveness or deception will lead to dire consequences, because if nuclear genie is released from its bottle, no one will be able to stop it, as it is the right of every country to protect its security, its stability, and the welfare of its people.
