By Toppling Saddam and Qaddafi, West Injected 'Sectarian Poison' (Le Quotidien d'Oran, Algeria) Allowing the Rest of the World to Speak Directly to Americans
'Pseudo-Caliphate'
Bell Tolls for Saudi Royals (Le Quotidien d'Oran, Algeria)
"It should
come as no surprise to Saudi clerics who nourished such hatred of Shiites to
hear the Daesh leader decree that Saudi Arabia is the
'head of the serpent' that must be attacked. One doesn't sustain for decades a
narrow-minded hatred without a backlash. … In that country, where entire
generations have been brought up on the ideology maintained by Daesh, the ground is fertile. The discourse preached by Daesh has been constantly taught and hammered in by the
official religious establishment. The 'caliphate' is a kind of fulfillment 'ad absurdio' of this 'education,' which has had extraordinary
means at its disposal to extend and reshape the way of religious life
throughout the Arab-Islamic world."
Daesh's pseudo-caliph isn't dead - and he made that known to
the globe by way of an audio recording in which he threatens the entire world.
There is nothing new in the extreme rhetoric of a groupuscule transformed through an accumulation of
external manipulation into a major player that considers itself a “state” - and
we hear even intends to mint its own currency. We can never say often enough
that it was the Americans who opened up the road for Daesh
and this disastrous situation by destroying the state of Iraq. Combined with
the war in Syria, the entire area has become highly explosive.

Now, belatedly, the Saudis are holding discussions with the
Iraqi government. At the request of Expediency Council Chairman Hashemi Rafsanjani, Riyadh has agreed to defer imposing
the death penalty on a Shiite cleric. Every state in the region, having contributed
to its rise to power - directly or not - is discovering that Daesh is a threat to them. It should come as no surprise to
Saudi clerics who nourished such hatred of Shiites to hear the Daesh leader decree that Saudi Arabia is the “head of the serpent”
that must be attacked. One doesn't sustain for decades a narrow-minded hatred
without a backlash.
Certainly, the pseudo-caliph who decided to enlist into his
army Iraqis who live in the territories under his control has developed an
expansionist vision. His “roadmap” is a broad one, running as far as the
Maghreb, Africa and even Andalucía in Spain. But beyond the rhetoric - which
can seem insane, the message contains a serious threat to Saudi Arabia. In that
country, where entire generations have been brought up on the ideology maintained
by Daesh, the ground is fertile. The discourse preached
by Daesh has been constantly taught and hammered in
by the official religious establishment. The “caliphate” is a kind of
fulfillment “ad absurdio” of this “education,” which
has had extraordinary means at its disposal to extend and reshape the way of
religious life throughout the Arab-Islamic world.

Geographically, it is indeed Saudi Arabia that is nearest the
“Caliphate,” and therefore the most susceptible to Daesh
attack. Saudi officials are not unaware of this, which is why they have
mobilized 30,000 men along its border with Iraq. These are emergency measures
but the Saudis face a serious problem: the youth of country’s educated youn people feel “empathy” and “sympathy” for Daesh. Numerous Saudis have joined Daesh
and many could be tempted to act on the spot. This is all the more true because
the other element of the “Caliph’s” speech deals with putting radicalization to
use and exploiting the sectarian hatred which has been in place for at least
three decades. He calls for Shiites to be killed “wherever you find them”!
This is a sinister accomplishment. The peoples of the region
are literally trapped in a mechanical hatred implemented over the decades, the
expression of which is Daesh. This “Caliphate” has no
future, but neither does it leave much for the people in the region where one
seeks in vain the beginning of a virtuous cycle.
