Until days ago, one of
North Korea's most influential people,
Jang Sung-taek is seen being dragged into a military tribunal
to hear his fate:
execution. What were his 'crimes'? We may
never know. Whatever they
were, the regime is clearly shaken.
'We Will Finish All Who Challenge Marshal Kim - Even Our Kin'!
(RodongSinmun, North
Korea)
Government mouthpiece RodongSinmun is usually slightly more subtle than
this editorial, which reflects a profound sense of insecurity on the part of
the Pyongyang regime. Little more than a neuro linguistic loyalty oath to a
supreme leader that just murdered his uncle, it reflects the depravity of a regime
that even among the North Korean ruling class, has lost its last fig leaf of legitimacy.
Kim Kyong-hui, wife of the now dead Jang Song-thaek, appears to have survived her late husband. In the bloodthirsty managerie of North Koreean politics, she was assigned after Jang's death to the funeral committee for fellow senior Workers' Party official Kim Kuk-thae, who died on Friday. At least, alone with her thoughts, she will be be able to mourn whom she wishes.
The Korean revolution has grown in strength hundreds
of fold.
In
a stern and solemn tone, someone might ask, "Who are you?"
Before
answering, one must feel a throbbing of the heart. Great pride and glory
surging over you. Then, out of your mouth, an answer like this comes readily:
"I am a Korean; I am a soldier with rifle in hand; I am a member of the
Workers' Party of Korea!"
That
would be the most natural answer one would expect from every Korean. However, what
would be required of us then would be an answer from the very bottom of ours
heart - glowing like molten iron - lava. The right thing to say would be,
"I am a fighter. I know no one but Marshal Kim Jong-un.
I share with him my life and blood. I fight for no one but him. I am his
soldier."
We
openly declare not to forgive anyone with irresolute ideas, murky eyes and a
mind that is impure toward our shining sun, respected Marshal Kim Jong-un.
Ask
yourself the same question. If your answer is obscure and indefinite, your
enemy will come at you boldly, dagger in hand. With the mere thought of arch
traitor Jang Song-thaek, the villain who dared outrage the supreme brains
of our revolution, a chill sweeps over us.
A
plotter within is more dangerous than 100 foes without. Just recall what
happened to the once socialist countries of East Europe. Hand in glove with plotters
greedy for power, imperialists ruined both the party and the state in those
countries - and they did easily, without shedding a drop of blood and without meeting
any resistance. The same tragedy occurred in the Middle East.
Socialist
Korea, however, has stood such tests and trials to rise like a giant as a reliable
bulwark of socialism in the East. How? By hunting down all plotters lurking in
our revolutionary ranks and mercilessly wiping them out, just as we do to enemies
out in the open, when they pounced on us with guns and rifles.
If
anyone dares come against our supreme leader, we will finish them off then and
there, even if he is our kin. Any man ready to do this is indeed one of strong will and firm faith.
Kim
Jong Un, we know no one but you!
After having his uncle Jang
Sung-taek publicly arrested and
murdered, Kim Jong-un makes a show of honoring Kim-Kuk-
thae, another Korean Worker's Party stalwart who
managed
to stay on the right side
of the regime until the end.
All
of us who serve in the Revolutionary Armed Forces venerates the Marshal alone.
With you we share weal and woe; yours is our love and yours is our hatred.
Kim
Jong-un, we know you're the only one who can maintain
and expand the fame and undying glory of our great generalissimos. Only he can promise
the country eternal prosperity.
In
you, the respected Marshal, we see a bright morrow. To you we vow to remain
ever so true.
