People will Never Give in to America's 'Aid Blackmail' (RodongSinmun, North Korea)
Is the
United States seeking to fool North Korea into lowering its guard - so it can then
launch an invasion? According to this 'commentary from the Korean Workers'
Party mouthpiece, the RodongSinmun, U.S. offers
of aid in exchange for an end to Pyongyang's nuclear program are part of
America's dastardly scheme to rule over the whole of the Korean Peninsula.
With John Kerry visiting Seoul, a South Korean man wears a mask of the U.S. secretary of state, demanding that Kerry go to North Korea for peace talks, April 12.
It is the unrelenting will of the Korean Workers'
Party to build a thriving socialist country by following its new strategic
line: building the economy and its nuclear force.
This new strategic line is nothing like an improvisation for
coping with a fast changing situation. For the supreme interest of the Korean
revolution, it is a line we should consistently hold fast to.
In an effort to get us to fall prey, the imperialists try to
disarm us. The United States has made no secret of its attempts to apply
pressure until we make another choice. And has also been quite obvious about
its appeasement policy. The U.S. has repeatedly said that north Korea would be
surprised by the great benefits of disavowing its nuclear program. Our enemies
say if we give up our nukes, they will help us. This is just a dastardly
attempt to break our will to remain independent and keep us defenseless. Such a
clumsy trick won't work on us.

Because we know there can be no change in the aggressive
nature of the imperialists and their policy for world domination, we will never
abandon our nukes. Conquering our republic by force and to rule over the Korean
Peninsula and Asia-Pacific is a cherished American ambition.
The United States hopes foolishly that our republic will yield
to its blackmail and deflect us from our independent stand. We still recall
bitter lessons of other countries: failing to build their own powerful defenses
and deterrence and pinning their hopes on outside forces, they became victims
of foreign aggression.
We will remain firm in our determination to boost our
self-defensive nuclear deterrence both in volume and quality, so as to boldly confront
all nuclear challenges and aggressive imperialist schemes.
