America is the most advanced model for civilization on the face of the planet, so when America extends its outstretched hand to Iraq in order to help her, that means, in the lexicon of politics and progress, that a miracle of good fortune has descended onto Iraq, a nation that has suffered greatly from bad luck and misery. And this has been chiefly due to the destructive behavior of its own sons. It is they and no others who have been solely responsible of the misery of their own country!

The Iraqi people chronically suffer because of the absence of honest politicians and political parties who consider the interests of their land and work toward those interests. The absence of a well-informed populace is also to blame, which has resulted in the total loss of Iraq and the complete failure of its leadership to govern. That is the frightening truth, notwithstanding the presence of a few honest and patriotic Iraqis whose rare presence has had no effect whatsoever.

Now that we are confronting these collective losses and our society's lack of proper direction, there is one question that forces itself upon us: Who will save Iraq from itself, guide its steps and help put it on the right path?

Since 1921 when the modern Iraqi state was formed right up to today, we have tried and failed miserably to govern ourselves. Instead, the pages of our history have been filled with political conflict, coups, bloodshed and mass destruction. Having provided nothing of use to their country, Iraqis have proven that they are a terribly destructive people. The most tangible evidence of this are the huge number of Iranian and Syrian intelligence agents among Iraqis, the proliferation of administrative corruption and the absence of any hope for the emergence of national political elites capable of rescuing the country.

OBAMA STANDS NEXT TO A CAR LABELED 'IRAQ'

POINTING TO THE CAR, THE IRAQI MAN SAYS TO OBAMA:

'THAT IS WHAT YOUR PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION DID.

WE'VE BEEN SUFFERING FOR FIVE YEARS. CAN YOU FIX IT?!'

[Sotal Iraq, Iraq]

Beyond Allah, Iraq has no hope or savior except America, which is capable of protecting Iraq from itself and the crimes of its politicians, parties and the greed of neighboring countries - particularly Iran and Syria. History shows that America only enters a country to turn it into a paradise where good and constructive progress thrive. We have seen this in the Gulf countries, which, thanks to relations with the United States, have become socially stable, economically thriving and safe from outside threats. We also have the examples of South Korea, Japan and Germany, who have enjoyed a boom thanks to the United States.

Whoever claims to be patriotic, honorable and concerned about the interests of Iraq should strongly demand on maintaining the best possible relations with the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and Korea, in order for us to benefit from the experiences of these developed countries and transfer this history of success to Iraq.

Iraq - Kitabat - Original Article (Arabic)

I so admire the writings of Khadir Taahar! This writer raves with such frankness and clarity, and never shies away from shocking the reader with his contrarian beliefs - whether he (the reader) be left-wing, right-wing or independent. For him, all that matters is that the reader be an Iraqi. Why? Because regardless of their religious denominations or particular beliefs, Iraqis are uncomfortable with the international brand known as the “United States of America.”

To say: “They are uncomfortable” in a polite and civilized way is not to say: “They hate or are resentful,” since I don’t wish to annoy Khadir Taahar - who is more American than the Americans and even more than Bush, Cheney, Rice or Gates. He is more part of the American intelligence apparatus than the men of CIA and more Jewish than the Jews (remember his Kitabat article from April 15th 2007, in which he called for establishing friendly relations with Israel so that it could take part in rebuilding Iraq!)

I like the work of this writer because he isn’t ashamed or embarrassed to express his ideas and political views clearly and honestly and he isn’t afraid of critics of his writings. Nor does he feel the need to respect the feelings of other Iraqis, who take umbrage at his favorite leaders, the Americans, who have inflicted death, destruction and ruin upon them in the service of Israel and her future security, and at their hands of Washington’s creation, the terrorists, who came from abroad at the behest of their [Iraqi] allies and advisers from the former regime.
