Iraq - Kitabat - Original Article (Arabic)

In a matter of days we will witness criminality in the open-air, when British forces hand the security dossier of the city of Basra over to the Iranian intelligence services. And right before our very eyes - on television - the Iraqi people will be treated to Iran's capture of Basra, only without the presence of Iran's consul in Basra, who actually governs the city!

After failing to occupy it during eight years of war [the Iran-Iraq War ] Iran will obtain Basra and all of its wealth as a gift from the city's Shiite parties. The henchmen of these Shiite parties are certain to remember the day that the Iranian army desecrated the land of Al-Faw [a major port on the Persian Gulf ] in Basra, how they changed the city's name to (Al-Zahra), and how they raised the Iranian flag above it, signifying the Persian Empire's expansionist ambitions in Iraq.

My beloved Basra will be like the part of Germany that was occupied by Stalin [East Germany], who maintained his rule over it while the world remained silent until his control became permanent. This is just the way the Iranian occupation has become a fact in Basra, with the blessing and participation of its client Shiite parties, since everything in Basra is controlled by Iranian intelligence under the supervision of the city's Iranian consul!

Iraq has lost the opportunity to benefit from the capabilities of Britain, which is considered the Queen of the Seas, when it was possible to exploit Britain's presence to rebuild Basra's ports, rehabilitate its ships, and launch a comprehensive reconstruction campaign ... Don't Iran's agents know that thanks to Britain, Hong Kong became one of the greatest principalities in the world, and that thanks to Britain, Australia, which was a country of red Indians and made up of various backward tribes, rapidly became one of the most advanced countries commercially, industrially and politically - or that India's industrial and political greatness was only obtained thanks to the British occupation?!

And don't Iran's agents know that America, which is currently the greatest nation on earth, was born thanks to British intelligence, planning and leadership?

This is a collective Iraqi stupidity and a national betrayal committed by the Shiite parties, which were given a golden opportunity these past four years to rebuild this vital Iraqi city with British resources. But we failed to capitalize on the chance when Iranian agents attacked Britain's army, which came to liberate Iraq from repression and death ... We are a foolish people that destroy ourselves!

Letter to the editor about Khadir Taahar, author of this article

Khadir Taahar - who is more American than the Americans and even more than Bush, Cheney, Rice or Gates. He is more part of the American intelligence apparatus than the men of CIA and more Jewish than the Jews.”

Iraq - Kitabat - Original Article (Arabic)

I so admire the writings of Khadir Taahar! This writer raves with such frankness and clarity, and never shies away from shocking the reader with his contrarian beliefs - whether he (the reader) be left-wing, right-wing or independent. For him, all that matters is that the reader be an Iraqi. Why? Because regardless of their religious denominations or particular beliefs, Iraqis are uncomfortable with the international brand known as the “United States of America.”

To say: “They are uncomfortable” in a polite and civilized way is not to sat: “They hate or are resentful,” since I don’t wish to annoy Khadir Taahar - who is more American than the Americans and even more than Bush, Cheney, Rice or Gates. He is more part of the American intelligence apparatus than the men of CIA and more Jewish than the Jews (remember his Kitabat article from April 15th 2007, in which he called for establishing friendly relations with Israel so that it could take part in rebuilding Iraq!)

I like the work of this writer because he isn’t ashamed or embarrassed to express his ideas and political views clearly and honestly and he isn’t afraid of critics of his writings. Nor does he feel the need to respect the feelings of other Iraqis, who take umbrage at his favorite leaders, the Americans, who have inflicted death, destruction and ruin upon them in the service of Israel and her future security, and at their hands of Washington’s creation, the terrorists, who came from abroad at the behest of their [Iraqi] allies and advisers from the former regime.
