Shiite tribesmen shout at a demonstration in on the outskirts

of Baghdad the murder of Shiites in Diyala Province, Dec. 6.

Some Shiites have begun to blame Iran for the nation’s woes.

Iraqi Shiites! Stand

Up and Reject Iran!

“My Shiite brother, today it is your duty before Allah the Exalted One, before your own conscience and in the face of history ... to publicly and frankly declare your rejection of Iran’s criminal interference in Iraq. … It is this that has destroyed our nation and has resulted in the murder of our sons.”

Iraq - Kitabat - Original Article (Arabic)

My noble and heroic Iraqi Shiite brothers, who have endured adversity, tragedy detention camps and communal graves …

I, a fellow Iraqi Shiite, address you as someone who shares your worries and grief, and like you, dreams of a free and dignified life within our beloved Iraq ... I address you in the hope of preserving our rights and interests, we, Iraq’s Shiite sons, before they are stolen by the agents and proxies of Iran.

With all regret, I find myself compelled to use this sectarian and un-Iraqi language. Perhaps one can be forgiven, since the reasons are so compelling and the catastrophe so great. After the destruction our nation has suffered and the division of its people into sects and nationalities, it has become nearly impossible to restore Iraq’s shattered national unity. With the devastation that has undermined the very notion of citizenship, all that was left was to defend our narrow, sectarian interests. One must be realistic, even if we reject this reality!

My Shiite brother, today it is your duty before Allah the Exalted one, before your own conscience and in the face of history ... to publicly and frankly declare your rejection of Iran’s criminal interference in Iraq. It is this that has destroyed our nation and has resulted in the murder of our sons, for it is Iran - with the help Syria’s Baath regime - which supports the remnants of the Baath Party and al-Qaeda; it is Iran which supports the Shiite militias and factions; and it is Iran that has caused the mass murder and destruction that has befallen Iraq.

My Shiite brother, prove your patriotism and your honor by rejecting Iran’s underhanded, filthy interference in Iraq by taking part in mass demonstrations across the country, and publicly declare your opposition to Iran’s despicable conspiracies against our nation.

Boycott all Iranian goods and hinder their import into Iraq; boycott all Iranian institutions and tear the offensive images of Iran’s clerics from the walls of Iraq’s cities.

Dear heroic sons of Imam Ali  and Al-Hussein   [Both revered by Sunnis and Shiites] ... express your rejection to every Iranian in Iraq and attack Iranian intelligence and its henchmen at its embassies, its consulates and its charitable institutions.

Any Iraqi Shiite who doesn’t frankly and publicly reject Iran’s interference is an Iranian agent, a traitor and a coward.

Any Iraqi Shiite who doesn’t boycott Iranian goods is a traitor and a coward.

Any Iraqi Shiite who doesn’t attack the nests of Iran’s intelligence agencies within Tehran’s embassies, consulates and charitable institutions is a traitor and a coward.

My Shiite brother, you now confront a great test of your patriotism, your honor and your loyalty to Iraq ... declare with a loud cry your rejection of Iranian interference and prove to one and all that you are an honorable Iraqi patriot.

about Khadir Taahar,

Khadir Taahar - who is more American than the Americans and even more than Bush, Cheney, Rice or Gates. He is more part of the American intelligence apparatus than the men of CIA and more Jewish than the Jews.”

Iraq - Kitabat - Original Article (Arabic)

I so admire the writings of Khadir Taahar! This writer raves with such frankness and clarity, and never shies away from shocking the reader with his contrarian beliefs - whether he (the reader) be left-wing, right-wing or independent. For him, all that matters is that the reader be an Iraqi. Why? Because regardless of their religious denominations or particular beliefs, Iraqis are uncomfortable with the international brand known as the “United States of America.”

To say: “They are uncomfortable” in a polite and civilized way is not to sat: “They hate or are resentful,” since I don’t wish to annoy Khadir Taahar - who is more American than the Americans and even more than Bush, Cheney, Rice or Gates. He is more part of the American intelligence apparatus than the men of CIA and more Jewish than the Jews (remember his Kitabat article from April 15th 2007, in which he called for establishing friendly relations with Israel so that it could take part in rebuilding Iraq!)

I like the work of this writer because he isn’t ashamed or embarrassed to express his ideas and political views clearly and honestly and he isn’t afraid of critics of his writings. Nor does he feel the need to respect the feelings of other Iraqis, who take umbrage at his favorite leaders, the Americans, who have inflicted death, destruction and ruin upon them in the service of Israel and her future security, and at their hands of Washington’s creation, the terrorists, who came from abroad at the behest of their [Iraqi] allies and advisers from the former regime.
