Barred for Life: 'Terrorist Gringo Cowboys' Go Home! (El Universal, Venezuela)

"Demonstrably terrorists, conspirators and interventionists, this was long overdue. Obligatory. Had to be done without further delay. The measure is reciprocal and proportional. Well thought out and justified. This will prevent them - those imperialistic cowboys and torturers - from repeatedly hanging around those fabulous regions where, apart from fishing for peacock bass, they used to buy - at a fair price and in abundance, for personal consumption and a bit to spare - all kinds of products made with socialist love which, as stated, is scarce in 'Gringoland."

Mexico - El Universal - Original Article (Spanish)

The country has restored the peace: with coups and assassination attempts on the lives of our leaders neutralized, those who incite violence in prisons and the seven gringo terrorists isolated, everything is in its place. Calm reigns. Everything is exceedingly normal. The muscles sleep and ambition is at rest.

In relation to this, we should give our thanks to Carrefour, El Corte Inglés, Galeries Lafayette, Harrods and Chinatown, as well as supermarkets Tepito de Ciudad de México o, San Telmo de Buenos Aires and Boyacá de Bogotá [shopping centers in other countries]. The seven "citizens" who were "deprived" of visas last week by our revolutionary government appreciate them, even if the shopping options in these outlets are nowhere near comparable in offering quantity, variety and price that for years they were able to enjoy in Venezuela. But sure as hell, these still-available sources of supply will satisfy their needs for products they find indispensable for living the good life.

[Editor's Note: The "seven gringo terrorists aka/seven citizens" the author refers to who have been deprived of Venezuela visas for life are: George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, Senators Bob Menéndez and Marco Rubio, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and former CIA chief George Tenet].

Yes, after tremendous anxiety and effort, there has been a resolution to the humanitarian problem visited on President George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Bob Menéndez, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the other U.S. citizens - all demonstrably terrorists, conspirators and interventionists - after the principled and sovereign decision announced to the world in Caracas, (as is already widely known and notoriously trumpeted around) to deny them Venezuelan visas (for life, forever and without appellation). Oh my God!

Well thought out and justified. The measure will prevent them - those imperialistic cowboys and torturers - from repeatedly hanging around those fabulous regions where, apart from fishing for peacock bass, they used to buy - at a fair price and in abundance, for personal consumption and a bit to spare - all kinds of products made with socialist love which, as stated, is scarce in "Gringoland."

Being compulsive consumers - after all, they invented "it's cheap, give me two" - they acquired whatever they fancied without being asked for ID at the cash register or having to put their fat fingers in a single fingerprint reader [measures adopted to limit panic buying in Venezuelan markets]. Since they didn't need visas to plant their insolent foreign feet on our hallowed soil, they used to come often, which (additional collateral damage) exhausted all available seats on flights. They entered like it was their house and ended up at supermarkets like Supermercados Bicentenario, Areperas Socialistas, Mercalitos, Mercales, Mercales a Cielo Abierto, Mercabar, Agropatria, Farmapatria, Zona Libre de Paraguaná, Mercado de los Corotos, Ferias de la Economía Informal, la Chicharronera de Lucho Noay and other outlets created by the revolution.

Maduro Says Coup Efforts by U.S. and Opposition 'Defeated' (Tal Cual, Venezuela)

They hoarded food of all kinds, fresh and processed goodies, liquor, snacks, trinkets, cleaning and grooming supplies, toilet paper, diapers, deodorant, kitchen and household articles, razor blades and shaving cream, condoms, batteries, lubricants and car accessories, clothing, shoes, cloth sandals, electronics, bed linen, furniture, rebar, cement, tools, wild duck, parrots, toys, printed flannels, Panama hats, medicines, lotions, creams and copies of "Plans for the Fatherland 2013-2019." They carried off everything we have in abundance. Hence the constant visits by Bush, Cheney, Menéndez, Ros-Lehtinen and other gringos who are now barred from coming.

Now their compatriots who wish to enter our great nation will have to cough up the 30 of their devalued dollars that our visa will cost them - they, who are so interested in acquiring here what their savage neo-liberalism, with its economic warfare, caused to disappear from shelves at Walmart, J.C. Penney, Macy's, Sears and other similar Yankee stores.

This weekend in Caracas there will be a meeting of UNASUR and the much lauded Secretary General of that regional consortium [Ernesto Samper] who has already agreed with the Strategic Command of the Revolution and their anti-imperialist measures, including stripping members of the National Assembly of their immunity and arresting students and political leaders. An ideal exhortation for [Venezuela's] clan of governing socialists would be the further deterioration of relations and trade with the United States and a deepening of exchanges with the southern bloc, [with Caracas] paying for products with oil shipments at half the international market price. God will provide!
