Ahmadinejad: ‘Zionist Capitalists’ Choose American Presidents (Kayhan, Iran)
Can it be claimed
that Israel, in the form of the U.S. ‘Zionist lobby,’ chooses America’s
presidents and effectively governs the country? According to this news item from the state-run Kayhan
newspaper, Iran President Ahmadinejad has asserted that ‘Zionist capitalists,’
doing Israel’s bidding, effectively govern 300 million ‘enslaved’ Americans.
TEHRAN: President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad on Tuesday rejected American claims about freedom, democracy and
human rights, asserting that in a country ruled by Zionist capitalists, U.S. leaders
exercise the worst form of suppression against their people.
"Today the U.S. is living under the ugliest form of
suppression, where from behind the scenes, a group of Zionist capitalists rule 300
million Americans," Ahmadinejad said, addressing the first International
Conference on Women and Islamic Awakening.
The president said that since the Zionist lobby brings its
favorite candidates to power who all protect its interests, freedom in the U.S.
has no meaning.
Ahmadinejad further described the occupying regime of Israel
as the base of this global hegemony, emphasizing that all revolutionary
movements must be aimed against the Zionist regime.

“This regime is a base for the domineering powers, and as
long as the hegemonic system and the Zionist regime exist, no nation can enjoy even
a day of peace,” Ahmadinejad told the opening of Conference.
Insisting that Islamic awakening is central to the
fundamental development of the global situation, he said, “Nothing new will
happen unless the world’s people are awakened.”
On the role of women in the social developments occurring around
the globe, the president said, “If women are determined (to make a change in their
community), progress will be unavoidable, as we have witnessed this in Iran and
can see it around the world.”
Noting that Europe and the U.S. have “demolished” the
existence of women today, he added, “So long as women are prevented from playing
their respective role, plundering, colonialism and crime will continue - and the
greatest abuses and repression are today being carried out against women.”
The president addressed female participants at the
conference, saying “your mission is quite weighty,” and he urged them not to
confine their “divine mission” to constraints based on race, geography,
ethnicity or language.
He stated that all freedom-loving and justice-seeking human
beings are siblings, and vowing that “global domination by the United States and
Zionist regime is crumbling and will soon be replaced by justice.”
President Ahmadinejad reiterated that while in passed ages, slavery
and the repression of human beings was overt, whereas today, the hegemonic
powers resort to slogans about human rights and freedom to deceive the world.
And Ahmadinejad rejected so-called “free elections” in the United
States, insisting that “a group of corrupt Zionist capitalists act behind the
scenes, ruling over 300 million Americans and people from other nations.”
“The American people lack freedom of choice; it is the
Zionists, according to their needs, that decide who becomes president,” the
president added.
More than 1500 female researchers and scholars, as well as
political and social activists from more than 80 countries, are particpating in the two-day conference.
Senior Iranian and foreign officials, including Ali Akbar Velayati, Secretary-General of the World Assembly of
Islamic Awakening and advisor to leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Commander of
the Basij Force Brigadier General Muhammad-Reza Naqdi, and Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council SeyyedAmmar al-Hakim, are also in
attendance.
Earlier in January, Tehran hosted the Second International
Youth and Islamic Awakening, attracting some 1,500 scholars and experts from 73
countries.
