are Killing Iran's Nuclear Scientists
Are the
Israeli Mossad and the American CIA killing off Iranian nuclear scientists? With
the death of yet another Iranian nuclear scientist near his Tehran home, Iran's
human rights chief Javad Larijani is calling for an investigation by the U.N.
Human Rights Council.
TEHRAN: Iran has submitted a
letter to the U.N. Human Rights Commission demanding an investigation into the killing
of an Iranian scientist last weekend.
Javad Larijani, the secretary
general of the High Council of Human Rights, said he blamed the occupying
regime of Israel for the assassination of Darioush Rezaeinejad, a
35-year-old graduate student who was gunned down outside his home in Tehran on Saturday.
"The assassination of Mr.
Rezaeinejad is a result of the extremely hostile policies being pursued against
our nation by the Zionists, the United States and some European governments,"
Larijani said.
Calling the scientist's death
"a crime against humanity," Larijani said he has written to the U.N.
High Commission for Human Rights Navi Pillay in Geneva.
Demanding an investigation of
the scientist's death, Larijani said, "The U.N. Security Council issues a
resolution and makes a list of our scientists. Then some terrorists that
receive money from the CIA and the Mossad kill them. This is clearly a game and
strong action should be taken against it. … Rezaeinejad's only crime was that he
was one of the scientific elite. All he did was work for his own country's progress.
"This policy isn't just
hostile against to the nation of Iran, but is a crime against humanity," Larijani
continued, reminding Pillay of the assassination of other Iranian scientists in
recent years, which he said were crimes that were masterminded by the Israeli
regime and the United States.

"We have written a
letter to Mrs. Navi Pillay to ask her to urgently report this issue to the
United Nations. This is why Iranian scientists are martyred by the Zionists and
hostile regimes."
According to Larijani, the assassination
of scientists is synonymous with targeting the very heart of humanity, which is
the right to use science and knowledge.
Emphasizing that our enemies
cannot bear a powerful and advanced Iran, he warned that the blood of our scientists
will not be wasted and that the blessing of their blood belongs not only to
Iran but to all of humanity.
Larijani also said that the
international community should stand against this crime, and he repeated that
the U.N. should open to an investigation into why Iranian scientists are being murdered.
