Arabs, Palestinians Suffer Fate of the American Indian (Le Quotidien d'Oran, Algeria)

"As was the desire of the West, the Arab Spring has been for Arabs what the White man was to the American Indian: a cancer that has metastasized, infecting almost the entire Arab nation and compelling people to make war in their own backyard. To walk over one's corpse with one's own feet. ... By cannibalizing themselves, Arab countries have opened the way for the Zionist state to definitively bury the legitimate Palestinian aspiration of regaining at least a scrap of dignity. ... Our intention is not to whitewash fallen Arab regimes like those of Qaddafi, Ben Ali, or even Mubarak, but when you see what has since become of those countries, one really starts to have regrets."

Algeria - Le Quotidien d'Oran - Original Article (French)

Day after day, the corpses of dead Palestinians litter the front pages of the international press, despite attempts to relegate events in the Gaza Strip to the inside of the paper - efforts which are blessed by proponents of two-tier democracy and encouraged by Israel's sense of impunity - regardless of what it does. This is a murderous "pacification" of all Palestinians in Gaza, and a massacre orchestrated by a terrorist state that sends its tanks against people using slingshots.

If we aren't surprised by the reaction of the "civilized" world, with Western capitals in the pockets of all-powerful Jewish lobbies and heads of state elected with their blessing, then the least we can do is question the causes of this genocide (let's not mince words). If the complicit silence of the Arab regimes no longer surprises us, used as we are to being caught with our trousers around our ankles, our minimum recourse is to urgently initiate some reflection on the circumstances of this emergency. Why have we reached this stage? First an explanatory note on the all-pervading hypothesis of the Arab Spring, which was so praised and applauded by "dinner party democrats," and which subsequently proved to be the worst reality ever experienced by the Arab countries. It was an idea imported and encouraged from abroad, a concept dreamed up and executed in the laboratories of the Mossad and CIA, and packaged and sold to the Arab consciousness by Al-Jazeera.

As was the desire of the West, the Arab Spring for Arabs has been what the White man was to the American Indian: a cancer that has metastasized, infecting almost the entire Arab nation and compelling people to make war in their own backyard. To walk over one's corpse with one's own feet. If the spark was struck in Tunisia, it then engulfed all Arab countries. It dragged them into the madness of civil war and opened the door to terrorist groups that made Islam their ideology, and an alibi with which to take power. Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq, are all examples of a dismemberment of regional powers that led the Arab nation to turn in on itself, closing the door to traditional causes of struggle.

By cannibalizing themselves, Arab countries have opened the way for the Zionist state to definitively bury the legitimate Palestinian aspiration to regain at least a scrap of dignity. The bombardment resumes whenever voices in the West denounce Tel-Aviv's policies of apartheid and colonization. Our intention is not to whitewash fallen Arab regimes like those of Qaddafi, Ben Ali, or even Mubarak, but when you see what has since become of those countries, one really starts to have regrets. What is abundantly clear, however, is that Arab destiny is unfortunately stuck between totalitarian regimes and an affinity for nepotistic theocratic rulers, all under the protective umbrella of our friends in Israel, France, and elsewhere. Nothing will change in Gaza, not this year, not in four years, and Palestinians will continue to play "exquisite corpse" in a scenario of "deja vu."
