Obama Plan to
Withdraw from Iraq Would Spell Disaster!
"If U.S. President Obama
implements his promise to withdraw from Iraq, it would be a collective
catastrophe that would overwhelm all the necessities of life in our homeland.
We would return to the prehistoric and dark ages and would perhaps end up worse
than Somalia."
If American President Obama
implements his promise to withdraw from Iraq, it would be a collective catastrophe
that would overwhelm all the necessities of life in our homeland. We would
return to the prehistoric and dark ages and would perhaps end up worse than
Somalia.
Before delving into the
implications of an American withdrawal, we must reckon with a stark truth,
which is the failure of the Iraqi people and their leaders since the
establishment of modern Iraq in 1921, particularly a complete lack of politicians and
national parties which defend the nation's interests. It is because of our
tendency toward national self-destruction that without the American umbrella
and its protection - all will be lost.
Some of the catastrophes that
will occur if the retreat takes place will be: a rapid collapse of State
agencies and the looting of the State by political parties and thieves; an
immediate war between the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution and the Sadrists
[both Shiite]; and the emergence of armed tribal groups in Shiite cities
engaging in gun battles with the parties. It would also result in elements of
the Al-Dawa Party [the party of Iraqi Prime Minister
al-Maliki ] fleeing the
country because of their feelings of fear and vulnerability, the revolt of
Shiite cities and their transformations into independent states, which will be
characterized by looting, stealing and murder.
OBAMA STANDS NEXT TO A CAR LABELED 'IRAQ'
POINTING TO THE CAR, THE IRAQI MAN SAYS TO OBAMA:
'THAT IS WHAT YOUR PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION DID.
WE'VE BEEN SUFFERING FOR FIVE YEARS. CAN YOU FIX IT?!'
In Sunni cities, there will
be conflicts and bloody wars between the Islamic parties and reformist groups,
tribal organizations, Baathist groups will reappear
and we will be plunged into a bloody civil war. Sunni cities will be
transformed into independent areas based on tribal and party loyalties, and
al-Qaeda will again return to these cities.
As far as the Kurds are
concerned, they would be subject to a strict blockade by Turkey, Iran and
Syria. They would receive a series of painful blows, and we would see a
shrinking of Kurdish pride, the disappearance of their boastfulness and
arrogance. And none of this excludes the possibility of a mass genocide carried
out by Kurdish militias against Arabs, Turkmen and Christians, which would
oblige Turkey to intervene and occupy the cities of Mosul and Kirkuk.
And of course, Iran would
intervene with all of its influence, indirectly occupying Iraq through its
intelligence agents and their clients, in an attempt to gain control over Iraqi
oil wealth and establish a Shiite country in the center and south. Syrian
intelligence and the intelligence agencies from other countries [like Saudi
Arabia] would enter and take control of Sunni areas.

In short ... in the event of
an American withdrawal, Iraq would be wiped off the map, torn apart and
destroyed forever ... Therefore, we must expedite the
signing of the long-term security agreement with the United States before
President Bush’s term ends, because Iraq is in dire need of American protection
and help in administrating its affairs and providing security.
I so admire the
writings of KhadirTaahar!
This writer raves with such frankness and clarity, and never shies away from
shocking the reader with his contrarian beliefs - whether he (the reader) be
left-wing, right-wing or independent. For him, all that matters is that the
reader be an Iraqi. Why? Because regardless of their
religious denominations or particular beliefs, Iraqis are uncomfortable with
the international brand known as the “United States of America.”

To say: “They are
uncomfortable” in a polite and civilized way is not to say: “They hate or are
resentful,” since I don’t wish to annoy KhadirTaahar - who is more American than the Americans and even
more than Bush, Cheney, Rice or Gates. He is more part of the American intelligence
apparatus than the men of CIA and more Jewish than the Jews (remember his Kitabat article from April 15th 2007, in which he called
for establishing friendly relations with Israel so that it could take part in
rebuilding Iraq!)
I like the work of
this writer because he isn’t ashamed or embarrassed to express his ideas and
political views clearly and honestly and he isn’t afraid of critics of his
writings. Nor does he feel the need to respect the feelings of other Iraqis,
who take umbrage at his favorite leaders, the Americans, who have inflicted
death, destruction and ruin upon them in the service of Israel and her future
security, and at their hands of Washington’s creation, the terrorists, who came
from abroad at the behest of their [Iraqi] allies and advisers from the former
regime.
