'Hillary's Old Umbrella'

Quickly becoming a sophisticated version of North Korea's maniacal state-run press, Iran's hardline Kayhan newspaper has published this article that - like the Kim Jong-il regime's North Korea News Agency on Thursday, takes aim at U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Like the regime in Pyongyang, Tehran's ruling mullahs make the case that rather than themselves, it is the United States that poses the greatest threat to the region and the world.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has proclaimed that the U.S. is ready to help its Persian Gulf allies establish a "defense umbrella" if Iran doesn't back down over its nuclear program. When one contemplates the latest comments by the secretary, an annoying old tune keeps creeping to mind: Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head ...

Clinton told Thai television that President Obama's administration is still open to engaging with Iran.

Clinton said, "We will still hold the door open. But we also have made it clear that we will take action, as I've said time and time again, crippling action, working to upgrade the defenses of our partners in the region."

“Crippling” was perhaps not the best choice of words for a woman who recently fell and broke her elbow. She said afterwards “I broke my elbow - not my larynx.” Oh dear, we wish her well all the same.

Hilary said that with a U.S. defense umbrella to support the military capacity of those in the Gulf, it's unlikely Iran would be any stronger.

But hold on a minute: with 24/7 satellite surveillance, aircraft carriers, missile cruisers, nuclear submarines, hundreds of fighter jets, thousands of helicopters, thousands of tanks, tens of thousands of paid stooges and 150,000 troops in the Middle East - the U.S. can't protect itself? How would weapons sales to countries that barely know how to operate U.S.-made weapons help them? Or was Hillary simply hinting at off-loading yet more useless U.S. military hardware on its so-called allies?

She went on with her undamaged larynx: "They won't be able to intimidate and dominate as they apparently believe they can.”

[Editor's Note: Secretary Clinton's full quote was: "We want Iran to calculate what I think is a fair assessment: that if the United States extends a defense umbrella over the region, if we do even more to develop the military capacity of those (allies) in the Gulf, it is unlikely that Iran will be any stronger or safer because they won't be able to intimidate and dominate as they apparently believe they can once they have a nuclear weapon]."

After eight years of war, mass murder, torture, rape and total destruction wrought on Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, we had no idea that the U.S. and its allies were so intimidated by the Islamic Republic’s drive to bring peace, development and stability to the region.

All leaders in the region and across the globe have hailed Iran’s active cooperation and assistance establishing peace and rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan after the total devastation of these countries by U.S.-led military occupations, based on the cockamamie pretext of a "war against terrorism."

But let’s get back to basics: invasions and occupations of entire countries are outlawed under international law. What on earth is the U.S. doing in Iraq and Afghanistan? Where on earth are the U.N. and its useless resolutions, all of which have failed to save a single innocent life in occupied Palestine?

America is neck deep in debt and needs to unload more useless military gear for hard cash on Arab populations who have no say in the matter, because as "democratic" U.S. allies they have no voice in governing their own countries.

In three centuries, Iran hasn't attacked a soul and yet it's being tagged as a threat by a so-called superpower that for a hundred years has fought dozens of offensive campaigns throughout the globe, end to end. Since WWII, America has slaughtered tens of millions of people.

The United States knows full well that it's an outcast after the mess it made out of everything it has touched throughout the globe. Without even noticing, America and its allies are living in deep isolation. The global community has rejected them, their loony-tune strategists and their comic mouthpieces the Voice of America, CNN, FOX and BBC broadcasts. For weeks on end, all have been laughing stocks within the world community. Just ask the 118 nation of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Don't the U.S. and its allies get the message? GO HOME and SHUT UP!
