America 'Wholly to Blame' for Nuclear Threat to World

Is the United States responsible for the nuclear crisis that now confronts the Korean Peninsula and the world? It's not a new charge from the maniacal North Korean regime, but its timing is striking. According to the North Korean Communist newspaper Rodong Sinmun: "It was the United States that manufactured nuclear weapons, and which for the first time in world history imposed a nuclear holocaust on mankind. Again, it is the U.S. which has the greatest stockpile of nuclear weapons and missiles in the world, and with them, threatens and blackmails other nations."

North Korea - Korean Central News Agency - Original Article (English)

Pyongyang: Recently, a non-partisan U.S. Congressional commission [the Congressional Commission on the Strategic Posture of the United States] was reported to have worked out and presented a report on the "strategic nuclear posture," the keynote of which is the assertion that the United States should have a "powerful and trustworthy nuclear deterrent" until a "radical change has taken place in the world political order," as a world free of nuclear weapons remains far off.

On Wednesday in a signed commentary, the [North Korean Communist newspaper] Rodong Sinmun observes in this regard:

In essence, the above-said report serves as a document that is anti-peace, as it calls for the modernization of U.S. nuclear forces and a stepped-up policy of nuclear blackmail.

Referring to the fact that Western media voices are ridiculing the report., the commentary says:

This tone [of the Western media voices] goes to prove that U.S. nuclear policy is unjust and that obviously, it is the United States that is entirely to blame for the spread of nuclear weapons and which posed a worldwide nuclear threat.

It was the United States that manufactured nuclear weapons, and which for the first time in world history imposed a nuclear holocaust on mankind. Again, it is the U.S. which has the greatest stockpile of nuclear weapons and missiles in the world, and with them, threatens and blackmails other nations.

More than any other place, the Korean Peninsula confronts the greatest threat of a U.S.-imposed nuclear war. The United States keeps the Democratic People's Republic of Korea within striking range of its nuclear weapons from south Korea and its vicinity.

The threat to the DPRK comes directly from the United States. The U.S. is the root cause of the nuclear danger now mounting on the Korean Peninsula. There is nothing that can excuse it of this.

The world sees through the criminal nature of the United States, which is wholly to blame for the nuclear threat that it poses. The United States would be well advised to roll back its double standards and anti-peace nuclear policy, and pay heed to the Western media's criticism and derision.
