Strauss-Kahn and Schwarzenegger: Reprehensible 'Breaches of Contract'

"For those who have power, responsibility is on loan. On loan - not given. Using such power for the base purpose of obtaining sex from the powerless is not only morally reprehensible, but moreover, it is a breach of contract."

Arnold Schwarzenegger: Managed to keep the lid on revelations of his 'love child' until after his governorship.

FRANCE 24 VIDEO: IMF chief Strauss-Kahn on suicide watch in Rikers Island jail, May 17, 00:01:39RealVideo

Is it really important whether the woman with whom France’s top Socialist Dominique Strauss-Kahn had sex with consented to it? Does it matter whether the maid of California Governor Schwarzenegger voluntarily responded to his sexual desires?

Certainly it is. It will determine whether Strauss-Kahn will go to prison, and if so, whether he gets out again before his death.

And as far as we know so far, Schwarzenegger has acted like a gentleman - at least after the event. Not before - as little as Strauss-Kahn did. Evidently, both very irresponsibly dealt with their great influence.

Public office is undermined to the detriment of the general public. The Strauss-Kahn and Schwarzenegger cases are, once again, being excessively viewed from the offender’s perspective. We should all look at and listen to the victims, the women, instead.
