Bostonians Hit By the 'Plague of the Century' (Al Ghad, Jordan)

"The plague of blood unleashed after September 11 is now striking everywhere. Boston has been struck by the plague like other places in the world, and innocent people have been killed and maimed. The world is no longer safe and everyone is threatened. Despite all of the security measures undertaken by states, the issues that motivate these acts remain because they have not been effectively addressed. On the contrary, the foreign policies of the United States and other Western countries encourage those condemnable acts that take the lives of innocent civilians."

Jordan - Al Ghad - Original Article (Arabic)

The FBI has identified two suspects in the Boston Marathon attacks and is asking the public for help in identifying the men.

FBI MOST WANTED VIDEO: Surveillance video from 12 minutes before Boston bombings shows suspects April 18, 00:00:30RealVideo

When civilians become targets of senseless bombings, it is a human tragedy having nothing to do with race, religion or location. Ordinary people should not be fuel for this war. In the simmering Middle East, we are regularly burned by its flames.

Not too many years ago, at one of our hotels, without any justification, terrorism stuck innocent people in Jordan. The scene is repeated in Iraq as well as Syria, where almost on a daily basis, dozens of innocents are killed. That chain also extends to Pakistan and other areas of the world that have been hobbled by this 21st century tragedy.

Nowhere in the world is immune from this outrageous cycle of violence. The day before yesterday, Boston was the target. It is a sad thing indeed that the victims were helpless innocents who didn't deserve to bear the burden of America's global policies, and are not responsible for its consequences. The same applies to Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Britain, France, and any place on the surface of the earth.

Terror and terrorizing civilians is a desperate and miserable technique that is invariably fails to alter anyone's political position. On the contrary, the results are counter-productive to those carrying out such acts. The greatest proof is that the attacks of September 11, 2001 that struck the United States were used as a pretext to launch bloody wars on Afghanistan and then Iraq. And as a result of those attacks on the U.S., Muslims across the world have become targets to this very day.

Today's bombing scene is a result of the vicious wars launched under the guise of fighting terrorism and striking at its strongholds. As a result, pedestrians killed on the streets are front page news in our daily papers. But are any identifiable goals achieved by these acts of aggression - with the exception of additional political defeats and greater hatred between the peoples of the planet and citizens of the same country [the United States]?

The culture of violence, destruction and murder is unrelated to any specific religion, race or culture, so everyone should stand firmly against it.
