America's Withdrawal Seals Iraq's 'Certificate of Death'

"Instead of thanking America for its great deed, they betrayed the U.S., stabbing her from every angle and plotting against her by allying with Iran, Syria and al-Qaeda. In this case, confronted with such animosity, it would be irrational for America to keep working as a policeman, protecting Iraqi homes and bringing them security and stability."

Iran has finally triumphed in the battle. It has plundered Iraq and its resources in exchange for the blood of the Iraqi people. At last, the game is being played in the open. All the players have emerged, and Iraq's Shiite parties have dared to openly travel to Iran to show their obedience and loyalty. They have declared their absolute agreement to follow Iran's decisions regarding the formation of the Iraqi government, and how to distribute power to their henchmen and followers.

But how was Iran able to achieve such a victory over America and the Iraqi people?

With the help of the remnants of the Baath, al-Qaeda, the militias, and the Syrian Mukhabarat (Syrian intelligence), It has triumphed by blowing up a group of its people from time to time and taking the whole of Iraq hostage.

It was a vile process of blackmail. As soon as the Saddam regime was overthrown, Iran, with the help of its allies, committed bloody massacres against the Iraqi people. It was the largest and most influential player. Within hours, Iran was able to destroy and set the nation alight, due to the availability of huge numbers of followers in the Shiite parties and across broad sectors of the country - and in the face of America's very weak influence and even animosity shown them by a majority of the Iraqi people, who were ungrateful for having been liberated from Saddam's regime and being saved from mass murder.

This was a clone of the Lebanese experience, when Syria provided the stability and security in Lebanon in exchange for taking control and ruling every aspect of Lebanese affairs. After it was shown that the Lebanese people were unable to protect themselves, the West approved of this arrangement. Iran is playing the game Syria did - and drowning Iraq in a sea of blood and destruction. Iran presented itself to America as the only force able to impose stability and security - but only for a price: the complete takeover of the Iraqi state and its wealth.

Did America sell out and mishandle Iraq?

Unfortunately, Iraqis were of no help to America in building up the country politically, economically and scientifically. Instead, Iraqis were agents of demolition and destruction in their own nation, and were ungrateful to America for liberating them from the dictator’s regime and providing them with the opportunity of a lifetime to change their lives and their homeland.

Instead of thanking America for its great deed, they betrayed the U.S., stabbing her from every angle and plotting against her by allying with Iran, Syria and al-Qaeda. Confronted with such animosity, it would be irrational for America to continue working as a policeman, protecting Iraqi homes and bringing Iraqis security and stability. It wouldn’t be reasonable to expect America to keep wasting its money on people that don't appreciate its position or its sacrifices, don’t want a life of democracy for themselves, don’t want to benefit from America's scientific and economic potential, and who instead choose to throw themselves into the laps of Iranian clerical rule, al-Qaeda, the Baath and the Syrian Mukhabarat!

Looking after its own interests, the U.S. asked itself a question: Is it beneficial to defend the Iraqi people, who express such animosity and have no appreciation for their own salvation, and who don’t want development and progress? Is it rational to continue to waste money and effort on a hopeless people, gripped by underdevelopment and self-destruction? It's only natural that the American political mind would think about its own interests and search for a solution with the fewest possible losses. It had no choice but to deal realistically with the situation and hand Iraq over to Iran in return for the provision of security, stability and control over the domestic situation to allow America to withdraw and lessen the headache of Iraq and its troubles.

In the face of the catastrophic situation surrounding Iraq on all sides: the absence of patriotic feeling among politicians, a population that won't defend itself or the country, the virus of religious separatism and the sharing of power based on sectarianism, the many political allegiances to external powers, the Shiite parties to Iran, Sunni Arabs to the Arab states, and Kurdish parties that have their own plans to weaken Iraq so that blackmail and the harvesting of profits will be easier … After all of these catastrophes, we can, with all the pain, suffering and tragedy, write the death certificate for a nation that used to be called Iraq!
