Palin: 'George W. with Two X Chromosomes'
"If one removes the two X-chromosomes and regards Palin
as a non-gendered entity, only one thing is left: a power-hungry politician,
inhabiting a universe of yes-men [and women], unable or unwilling to see any
wrongdoing in herself and regarding all people who hold dissenting opinions as
political enemies, not least because she sees herself on a mission from God on
her way to changing the world."

A man who criticizes a female politician quickly draws
accusations of sexism and chauvinism.
And why not? - If the criticism that was so long directed at women
had been applied to men, it would have led to a call for mass-resignations.
But - as painful as this may be for feminists -
incompetence and unethical behavior are by no means limited to the male gender.
And the generally better social skills of women also results in a superior
ability - if they see fit - to lie better than most men. In politics, this is a
core-competence.
Therefore when a female politician is attacked, one
should look very carefully at what the criticism is and who is screaming,
"Sexism!"
In this regard, an almost absurd situation has
prevailed in the U.S.-election campaign since John Mc Cain picked
ultra-conservative Sarah Palin as his running mate. Even before specific
criticism was leveled at Palin, the McCain campaign-machine had labeled remarks
with no connection to her whatsoever as being unfair and sexist.
COMEDY CENTRAL
ASKS REPUBLICANS ABOUT PALIN
One could almost believe that this women, who during
her time as a mayor proposed the banning and removal of books from the local
library; who after being elected governor appointed old schoolmates lacking any
qualification to executive positions; who used the Alaska state government
e-mail database for personal political propaganda; who used her personal e-mail
address rather than her government one for official correspondence (very much
in the style of the Bush Administration, since such e-mails are much harder to
subpoena and dirty business can be more effectively hidden); who employed a "special
assistant to the governor" primarily as a baby-sitter at an annual cost to
taxpayers of $70,000; who as a member of an ultra-conservative church and
fanatical opponent of abortion, sex education and family-planning, that this
practitioner of nepotism and cronyism is a shining example for women in
politics and that attacking her is synonymous with attacking women in general.

She is precisely the opposite. If one removes the two
X-chromosomes and regards Palin as a non-gendered entity, only one thing is left:
a power-hungry politician, inhabiting a universe of yes-men [and women], unable
or unwilling to see any wrongdoing in herself and regarding all people who hold
dissenting opinions as political enemies, not least because she sees herself on
a mission from God on her way to changing the world.

And here's the solution to the puzzle - of why Palin
was chosen, the source of her popularity among conservatives and what makes her
so dangerous: She is the female version of George W. Bush, a W with two X
chromosomes, so to speak. If McCain was really such a paragon of integrity und
non-partisanship (and this must be severely questioned), then Palin is the
guarantee that at least part of the government would remain stuck in the same
clan-thinking that has already rendered the Bush Administration completely
resistant to outside advice.

It's telling that - when it comes to political
opponents - the ultra-conservatives never shy away from sexual dirty tricks or
playing the sex-card when an attack is mounted against Palin. And it's hardly a
consolation that Palin will "only" be Vice President.
Even if John McCain is still fit - when he enters
office he would be the oldest president ever … and just a heartbeat away awaits
a "W" with two "X's" ...
