The popularity of
Barack Obama goes beyond borders. In Brazil, several candidates standing for
municipal elections have adopted his name. Thus, in the city of Petrolina, Alexandre Jacinto Nunes
is now called Alexandre Barack Obama 
. Near Rio de Janeiro, a Black politician
has entered the electoral rolls under the name Barack Obama of Belford Roxo.
France is not
immune to Obamania. According to our information, several candidates for the
leadership of the Socialist Party (and more, if one counts its allies) have
undertaken similar steps. Bertrand Delanoe Obama could be the first, followed by Barack Segolene Royal and thirty-two other candidates. Unless
Martine Aubry-Obama declares her candidacy, too, and breaks the house ...

This is word play that's hard to fathom in English. "Barack" is
phonetically similar to "baraque", which in French means
"house"].
