World Mistaken to Ignore Military Buildup Near Iran
"Due to the powerful weapons
of the aggressors and the anticipated response by Iran, which has been
preparing to tenaciously resist with all means available, this presages an
apocalyptic event without precedent in the history of war."
Obama and Netanyahu: It's a warning that has been sounded many times over the past few years: Is the United States and/or Israel planning to attack Iran? Recent naval activity along the Iranian coast has triggered renewed concern.
Since the two Bush
aggressions against Iraq (1991 and 2003), the United States hasn't deployed its
military might in the Persian Gulf like it is doing today against Iran. While the major
media hardly mentions the buildup, and seems intent on downplaying U.S.-Israeli war
preparations against the Persian country, there is more evidence and
indications of them every day, primarily from specialized sources. The topic is
being increasingly addressed by well-known analysts with divergent ideological positions.
For example, Shamus Cooke, in a note published in Rebelión [first
published in Global Research], labels the sanctions against Iran announced
by Obama on July 1st as an obvious act of war.
"By cutting this
refined oil off, the U.S. will be causing massive, irreparable damage to the
Iranian economy - equaling an act of war ... The strategy here is to
economically attack Iran until it responds militarily, giving the U.S. a fake
moral high ground to “defend” itself, since the other side supposedly attacked
first.”

Israeli Web sites
stand out by their abundant information (and disinformation) on the subject. As
in the case of Debka File,
a site experts associate with the Israel spy agency Mossad. As early as May 20,
it predicted a considerable increase in Yankee military presence "off the
coast of Iran," with the arrival of four to five aircraft carriers plus
their powerful flotillas between the end of July and the beginning of August
(so far three have arrived). A month before it happened, Debka announced
the arrival in the gulf of the aircraft carrier Harry S.
Truman and its battle group, accompanied by the German vessel Hessen
"operating under American command," in opther words, the day it disembarked
from its base in Norfolk, Virginia. The news agnecy concealed, however, the
presence among those vessels of an Israeli ship - a fact that was later reported
by a number of Western and Arab sources.
Citing Arab sources, Noam
Chomsky wrote in a recently syndicated column that the objective of the fleet,
which has been dispatched by the United States to the Persian Gulf, is to "implement
the sanctions against Iran and supervise the ships going to and from Iran."
The linguist mentions a terrifying statement made by Dan Plesh, director of the
Centre for International Studies at the University of London: "U.S. bombers are already
on stand-by to destroy 10 000 targets inside Iran in just a few hours. Last
February, Washington announced the modernization of a number of Patriot batteries
placed in four Arab states in the Persian Gulf, and the sending of various
ship-based launchers to 'protect' its ships and carriers from a possible aerial
or rocket attack by Iran."
In the Asia Times,
David Moon
analyzes in detail the probable air attack by Israel, acting alone, on the
Iranian nuclear instalations, but also in the Asia Times, Victor Kotsev minimizes
that possibility, and maintains that at the moment, it seems very likely that
if an attack were to occur, it would be a joint U.S.-Israel action. He adds that
Washington appears to have been engaged in special operations and preparations
for an "action" against Iran.
"The U.S. appears
to have stepped up covert operations and preparations for action against Iran. Persistent
reports reveal that American forces have been concentrating around the Persian
Gulf and the Caucasus, most remarkably in Yemen and Azerbaijan, and that U.S.
and Israeli air forces have recently been practicing joint bombing drills. It
may be, therefore, that the U.S. is simply on a geostrategic collision course
with Iran, and doesn't feel confident enough that Israel will be able to do the
job.” Kotsev also notes that Russia has reiterated that it will not allow large-scale
militray operations near its borders ...
Todo lo anterior
anuncia un panorama apocalíptico, sin precedente en la historia de las guerras
por el poderío de las armas del agresor y la previsible respuesta de Irán, que
se ha venido preparando para una resistencia tenaz por todos los medios a su
alcance.

Iran is the most
inspected member of the International Atomic Energy Agency and there is no
proof of a military component to its nuclear program. Israel, in contrast, possesses
hundreds of nuclear weapons, and refuses to sign the Nuclear
Non-Proliferation Treaty or undergo inspections. Obama, among other
flattering words to his guest Netanyahu, just said that "we will not ask
Israel to take steps that would endanger its security.” ...
