South Stages 'Ridiculous Farce' with U.S. Imperialist Mercenaries
Are South
Korea and the U.S. attempting to stir up tensions with North Korea? According
to this article from the maniacally state-controlled Korean Central News
Agency, celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Seoul serve no purpose but to 'go
against the trend of the times, escalate tensions and hamstring efforts to
improve inter-Korean relations.'
While South Korea and the U.S. had a lower-key event for the liberation of Seoul, North Korean dancers kicked up a storm to mark the 65th anniversary of North Korea's Workers' Party in Pyongyang, Oct. 9. Watching in the stands was Kim Jong-un, the young man being groomed to take over the crisis-ridden nuclear nation.
A few days ago in Seoul, the south
Korean authorities staged a ridiculous ruckus called "Commemoration of the
Day of Recovery of Seoul." Their chief executive, "government,"
military officials and former U.S. imperialist mercenaries were involved in
this anti- DPRK burlesque show, marking the lapse of six decades since the
outbreak of the Korean War. The confrontational charade was timed to coincide
with an event commemorating the "Day of the Republic of Korea Army,"
an annual event that takes place October 1. During the events, the warmongers
let loose provocative remarks against the DPRK, such as describing the Cheonan case as a "provocation from the
north" and "infiltration and provocation by asymmetric combat
power."
[Editor’s note: The North
Korean-controlled press does not capitalize the S in South Korea, implying that
it is not a nation].
The RodongSinmun [mouthpiece of the Central Committee of
the Worker’s Party of Korea] observes in a signed commentary in this regard:
The above-said farce is
nothing but another politically motivated and grave provocation against the
DPRK. It is aimed at covering up their [the South Korean government's] crime-riddled
history, fanning extreme antipathy and creating an atmosphere of confrontation
with their fellow countrymen.
Against the backdrop of the
above-mentioned charade, the saber-rattling is being staged in order to invade
the DPRK. It is a premeditated move intended to
hamstring Pyongyang's efforts to improve inter-Korean relations and ignite a
war, the commentary notes.

It goes on to say that if the
south Korean authorities truly wish to mend inter-Korean relations, they should
stop all provocations that get on the nerves of the DPRK and aggravate the
situation. They should instead opt for achieving national reconciliation and
unity and repairing inter-Korean ties.

If they continue to go
against the trend of the times, escalate tensions and hamstring efforts to
improve inter-Korean relations, the south Korean authorities will not be able
to escape the stern punishment of history.
