Hatred of the 'Enemies' is a 'Wonderful' Thing (Kayhan, Islamic Republic of Iran)
Is widespread Muslim
anger over an obscure film clip and cartoons by Satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo something
that political leaders should encourage? According to this news item from
Iran's Kayhan newspaper, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah
Seyyed Ali Khamenei calls
the recent violence 'wonderful,' and that anger at the 'enemies' should be
cultivated during this year's Hajj.

TEHRAN: Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, slammed the position
of Western governments on Monday over the recent blasphemous acts against Islam
and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
“The position adopted by Western politicians on this great
insult is in no way different from a position of simple animosity,” said Ayatollah
Khamenei, addressing officials of the Ministry of
Culture's Hajj
and Pilgrimage Organization.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the
West’s position on these sacrilegious acts against Islam reveals the true face
of the arrogant powers, demonstrating their enmity toward Islam and Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH).
The Leader lauded the furious reactions of Muslims in Islamic
countries - and even across the U.S. and Europe, against the sacrilegious U.S. film
and French cartoons.
“The seething reaction of the Muslim world, which pays homage
to Islam’s Prophet (PBUP) and reflects deep hatred toward
the enemies is a wonderful and very important turn of events and demonstrates
the enormous capacity of the Islamic Ummah,”
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader urged the Islamic Ummah
to exercise vigilance in the face of the dangerous plots of the enemies, which
are aimed at sowing discord among Muslims.

“The front of the arrogance should not be permitted to save
itself from the Ummah's fury by sowing discord among
Muslims,” Ayatollah Khamenei noted.

“The arrogant powers and enemies of religion must know that
despite the numerous Muslim denominations and theoretical and ideological
differences, the Islamic Ummah is united against
them,” the Leader said.
The Leader also said that unity within the axis of the Holy
Prophet and disapproval of the Prophet’s enemies should be routine for all
pilgrims during their Hajj rituals. He told the assembled officials that this
year’s Hajj is exceptional, and that it should reflect the Ummah's
unity and Muslims’ deep hatred of the global arrogance should be displayed in
Hajj.
According to the Leader, these moves insulting the Holy
Prophet of Islam by the global arrogance and its allies demonstrates their deep
animosity, hostility and hatred of the Prophet. The Leader said Muslims of all
sects and persuasions, whether Shiite or Sunni, hardliner or moderate, should make
take part, because the Prophet is the axis of divine and Islamic ideology.
Ayatollah Khamenei said all
Muslims should support the Prophet’s cause of monotheism, Islam and the Quran,
and should use Hajj rituals as an opportunity to show their love toward him.
