A Hypocrite on Drugs, Obama Must 'Clean His Own House'

"The system for smuggling, distributing and selling every kind of drug - throughout the entire land mass of the United States - is equally or even more effective than the distribution and sale of hamburgers and cola. … Yes, Mr. Obama, first clean your own house."

We all know that the society of the United States has the highest number of drug consumers in the world. And everyone knows that the Mexico-U.S. border is the busiest in the world, across which pass tremendous amounts of drugs.

And everyone knows that Mexican narco-traffickers are among the largest suppliers of narcotics to dealers who operate throughout the United States with little difficulty. However, there is something many know but few want to recognize or resolve: the high levels of corruption prevalent at every strata of the U.S. government, which makes possible the largest drug market in the world.

Even with the rampant corruption among police, government and specialized agencies, the U.S. is clearly oblivious to the means that the 15 million or so drug addicts in the American Union have on hand to obtain their respective doses of the drugs they want - every day, wherever and whenever they want them, throughout the territory of the United States.

In fact, the system for smuggling, distributing and selling every kind of drug - throughout the entire land mass of the United States - is equally or even more effective than the distribution and sale of hamburgers and cola. And it means that, in terms of business efficiency, it would be cost-effective even without any corrupt authorities. At the very least, a business that has at minimum 15 million customers must be considered part of the U.S. economy.

Which is why it is unacceptable that the government and Mexican State are cowed at the first slap by the Obama Administration, which responded with anger and surprise to the criminal violence unleashed in the city of Juárez, which resulted in the killings of two U.S. citizens. Obama is free to complain, but so is the government of Mexico when it questions the mess in Obama's house with respect to corruption and drug trafficking.

[According to The New York Times, Juárez officials suspect the Barrio Azteca gang of Juárez might be responsible for the deaths of American citizens Lesley A. Enriquez, 35, who worked at the consulate, her husband, Arthur H. Redelfs, 36, a detention officer for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and Mexican citizen Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, 37, whose wife worked for the consulate].

Yes, questions exist about corruption. And here's a pearl: In its February 15, 2010 issue, Mexican daily La Razon carried a report from CNBC of the U.S., that documented the dependence of Mendocino County, California on the production and sale of marijuana - the distribution of which is done through FedEx. All the authorities, including the DEA, tolerate this "narco-county," which is home to five Nobel laureates and where the leading businessman is an ex-convict. In fact, what's occurring in Mendocino is regulation of the production, sale and consumption of marijuana. Yes, Mr. Obama, first clean your own house..
