When the United States
decided to erect a double wall along its common border with Mexico - and some
states promoted laws to prosecute migrants, many deplored and condemned the
action because such methods violate the human rights of immigrants.
Of course, this
anti-immigrant policy isn't unique to the United States, which has had to withstand
that nearly 500,000 Central and South Americans that flee their countries every
day.
Recently, the European
Parliament approved a shameful law against migrants, which should be condemned
not only by citizens of the world but also by governments.
According to news coming from
the Old Continent, the law passed by the Euro-Parliament on the 18th of this
month not only permits the expulsion of undocumented immigrants, but also provides
for prison terms of up to 18 months and five-year prohibition on returning to
Europe.
In other words, the United
States, the European Parliament sees the immigrant as a criminal, rather than
as a human being seeking to survive in a distant land.

Many believed that today's
Europe, because its past was so appallingly bloody, was more democratic and
humane than the U.S. But with this newly-adopted
law, it has demonstrated that it's the equal of the United States.
Therefore it is clear that anti-immigration
on the part of the ruling classes has in fact become globalized,
which will necessarily result in the globalization of citizens in favor of emigration.
That is to say, to the extent
that there are repressive mechanisms against migration, immigrants must
innovate and develop a variety of ways to agitate in favor of immigration.
The governing classes of the nations
of the First World, with their repressive laws, pretend to ignore their
historic responsibility in provoking the exodus of thousands of men and women from
Africa and Latin America, mostly on the basis of purely economic reasons.
