Barack Obama and his living predecessors in the Oval Office last
week: According to Khaasim al-Mateer of Sotal Iraq, the three
terms that a Bush served in the White House badly undemined
Francis Fukuyama's theory of the 'End of History' - and damaged
both America and the world. Lucklily, al-Mateer says, the Bush
terms were punctuated by Clinton's successes.

Obama Likely Left to 'Lick Bush's Dishes'
"No one can predict
what theory Obama will adopt for the world, since over the next decade, capital
markets will undergo new financial and economic problems. Perhaps while the
entire Bush family is busy breeding dogs on their Texas ranch, Obama will
simply be left licking their dishes!"

The name George W.
Bush will forever be associated with the period of history now coming to a
close, which has been characterized by major global change, earth-shaking
events and anxiety. During this time, people hungered for a real democratic
transformation along the lines described by American writer Francis Fukuyama in
his 1992 book, The End of History and the Last Man
. In the
book, Fukuyama theorized that the end of the Cold War would result in the end
of humankind's ideological evolution and an expansion of Western democracy
around the world.
This theory was
practically applied after the era of George Bush the elder, which saw the
collapse of the Soviet Union, the end of the Warsaw Pact and, with the direct
involvement of the Bush senior, the outbreak of the Second Gulf War [for Iraq
it was the second - for America it was the first
].
This President, George H.W. Bush, preached a new democratic era - an idea
picked up and endorsed by George W. Bush eight years later. During this time,
American strategic planners and advisers believed, as both Bush's did, that it
would be possible to establish a New World Order free of fear and
terrorism, and to achieve peace and security everywhere from the caves of Tora
Bora all the way to the Gaza Strip.
In just a
few days - on the 20th of this month - George Bush W. Bush will leave the White
House forever. He will do so in the shadow of deteriorating financial and
economic conditions across the capitalist world, first and foremost in the
United States. This has done serious damage not only to the "end
of" theory of Fukuyama, but to the "beginning of” theory
of the two Bush's - although during the Clinton period, which came between the
two Bush tenures, the world did witness something of a strengthening of the
ideas of democracy.
During
Clinton's time in office - in between the two Bush presidecies, the entire world
underwent a real and profound transformation that included many scientific
developments (in the U.S. and Japan) which accelerated the industrial
revolution in fields beyond the raw materials of iron, oil and chemicals. The
achievements of this revolution were in the field of electronics, information
systems, genetic engineering, space science and discoveries about the secrets
of existence and life. This led to a radical transformation of people’s lives,
the means of production, and how consumer marketing is conducted. This has
given life a whole new orientation and means that in the
not-too-distant-future, the relationship between the means of production and
methods of distribution will also be transformed.

No one can predict what
theory Barack Obama will adopt for the world, since over the next decade,
capital markets will undergo new financial and economic problems which are
likely to continue to plague the theory of an End of History. Perhaps
while the entire Bush family is busy breeding dogs on their Texas ranch, Obama
will simply be left licking their dishes!
Afternote:
Everything that has been said about the end of history is lie, and everything
that is said about how this is the beginning of the end of capitalism is also a
lie!
