The North Korean
People are 'Greatly Enraged'
Is the
recent crisis between the two Koreas part of a plot by the South to 'tarnish
the fast-rising might of the DPRK and maintain a sense of domestic and
international isolation and crisis?' According to this news item from the rigidly
state-controlled Korean Central News Agency, 'Escalating the
confrontation will lead to war - and he who is fond of playing with fire is
bound to perish therein.'

Pyongyang: The puppet administration of south Korea is now hell-bent
on wholesale confrontation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, taking
issue with the DPRK army over the due punishment it meted to the puppet group
for its reckless military provocation. [The North maintains that the South
first fired live artillery shells into the North's territorial waters, after
which Pyongyang shelled the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong.]
In this matter, a spokesman
for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea released a statement
on Friday that says in part.
The puppet
administration's recent military provocation is part of a deliberate and
premeditated plot hatched to preserve its confrontational smear campaign, tarnish
the fast-rising might of the DPRK, scuttle efforts for improving north-south
relations and maintain a sense of domestic and international isolation and
crisis.

The puppet group perpetrated
the recent provocation after making the sinister calculation that if the DPRK failed
to react, it would be "tacit recognition" of the illegal "northern limit line." Furthermore,
it foresaw that if the DPRK reacted militarily, the puppet group would be able
to use it as a pretext for an anti-DPRK smear campaign.
All of this notwithstanding, while
tearing down the DPRK, the chief executive of south Korea [President Lee
Myung-bak] didn't even bother to cry out for "much harsher punishment."
This was nothing but a last-ditch attempt by those who were hit so hard after their
hasty provocation.
The current situation proves the
accuracy of warnings by the DPRK that the conservative Lee Myung Bak group's seizure
of power would bedevil inter-Korean relations and lead to a war. It also confirms
both domestic and foreign concerns.

If the puppet group insists
on confrontation, the DPRK has no intention of dodging it. The temperament of
the DPRK is to resolutely counter confrontation with confrontation - and war
with war.
The army and people of the
DPRK are greatly enraged at the provocation of the puppet group. If they dare even
slightly encroach again on the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK, the DPRK is
fully prepared to shower the bulwark of the enemies with dreadful fire and
destroy it.
The puppet group shouldn't lose
its head and clearly understand the will and mettle of the highly-alerted army
and people of the DPRK to wipe out its enemies. Escalating the confrontation will
lead to war - and he who is fond of playing with fire is bound to perish
therein.
Gone are the days when verbal
warnings sufficed. With good faith, we will respond in kind, but with encroachment
on our dignity and sovereignty, we will punish the provocateurs with resolute
and merciless counteraction.
