Americans Trump Up 'War
on Terror' in Northeast Asia
Did the
United States and South Korea engineer the downing of a South Korean naval vessel
in order to create a 9/11-style pretext to launch a 'War on
Terror' in southeast Asia? According to this editorial in the rigidly state-run
Korean Central News Agency, the story of the North's 'torpedo attack' is
'nothing but a lie concocted by the U.S. and south Korean authorities.'
Pyongyang: The United States
is taking the lead in disturbing the world after the south Korean puppet
authorities announced the results of their sheer fabrication, an "investigation"
into the sinking of the warship Cheonan.
[Editor's Note: Pyongyang
refers to South Korea as "south Korea" - implying that
South Korea is not the proper name of a nation.]
When a crime occurs, elementary
logic dictates that investigators look into who benefitted most from it.
The Cheonan, a warship
of the South Korean navy, broke into two pieces and sank to the bottom of Korea's
West Sea [also known as
the Yellow Sea]. It's the U.S. and its "allies" in the Asia-Pacific who
are fishing in troubled waters, and in this case the greatest beneficiary is
the United States.
It is universally known that
the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has been focusing its efforts on an
all-out offensive to create a thriving nation by 2012.
In light of the common sense
idea that development presupposes peace, the DPRK requires a peaceful environment
more than ever. Precisely for that reason, the DPRK has put forward a proposal
for establishing a lasting peace-keeping regime on the Korean Peninsula.
Given this, the Americans are
spreading misinformation about the political "benefit" obtained by
the DPRK from the above-said case.
This is an illogical and
far-fetched assertion intended to harm the DPRK. Perhaps this reflects their obsessive
desire to bring down the DPRK system after having worked so hard to cover up
the reality in the DPRK, where all efforts have been bent on building an
economic power.
Any logical person well
understands that the DPRK has nothing to gain from orchestrating such a
situation.
But in the U.S., the reaction
to the case has been quite different. America seems to have a complacent smile
of satisfaction and considers this a golden opportunity to trumpet their theory
of a "threat from north Korea." This is a bid to tighten its grip on
its Asia-Pacific "allies," contain other great big powers and
escalate its attempt to stifle the DPRK.
As a matter of fact, in a bid
to beef up its forces in the region and tighten its military domination, the
Obama Administration is exacerbating the situation - as evidenced by the order
issued to U.S. forces in south Korea to prepare for another Korean war.
Manipulated by the United
States, the south Korean puppet group and Japanese authorities have expressed great
displeasure with developments in DPRK-China relations. And the U.S. has become ever-more
zealous about imploring countries around the DPRK to recognize the hypocritical
"results" of the investigation and escalate moves to stifle it.

Under pressure from the U.S. over
the issue of moving U.S. forces away from the American air base in Futenma, the
Japanese government had been looking for a chance to deceive the people of
Okinawa Prefecture. So Japan willingly accepted the U.S. request to raise a hue
and cry over the "security unease" allegedly created by the Cheonan
incident.
This
created a shout of joy in Washington.
An article in the May
24th issue of The New York Times described Japan's decision to
transfer the U.S. forces' airfield from Futenma to coastal area near Camp
Schwab as a U.S. victory.
The group of traitors around President
Lee Myung Bak also greatly benefited from the case. With the June 2 elections
to local governing bodies just around the corner, they made the
"investigation results" public and issued a "statement to the
people," maximizing the electoral effect of its conspiratorial farce.
By kicking up an
unprecedented atmosphere of hostility to the DPRK in south Korean society and
purging pro-reunification progressive forces, the south Korean traitors have
launched a wholesale political terror campaign to ensure unchallenged
domination by the right-wing conservatives.

The traitors have completely
frozen exchange and cooperation between north and south, returned inter-Korean
relations to the state they were in before the June 15 Joint Declaration
and pushed the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war. In doing so, the traitors have
greatly pleased their masters and have created conditions to keep themselves to
power.
The fact that the American
master and his south Korean servants benefited more than any others from the Cheonan
case, which claimed the lives of 46 soldiers from the puppet south Korean army,
proves clearly that the story of the north's "torpedo attack" is
nothing but a lie concocted by the U.S. and south Korean authorities.
The international community
should pay attention to the fact that the Cheonan case presages the commencement
of a fully-fledged Northeast Asian version of the U.S. "war on terrorism,"
as this is being promoted as an Asian version of the September 11 incident. But
this time, it was cooked up with the help of the south Korean puppet
authorities. The goal is to render the political-military environment of the strategic
hub of the 21st century, the Asia-Pacific region, decisively favorable to Washington.
