Ahmadinejad Calls September 11 Attacks a 'Big Lie'
The state-run Islamic
Republic News Agency reports that during a meeting last week with his
own intelligence officals, the Iranian head of state asserted that the September
11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States were 'a big lie,' and were carefully planned by U.S.
intelligence to justify the 'War on Terror.'
Tehran:
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has told Intelligence Ministry personnel that Iran's
arrest of terrorist ringleader Abdulmalek Rigi has
humiliated American, Britain
and Zionist intelligence services.
[Editor's Note: Abdulmalek Rigi is the
leader of Jundallah, also
known as People's Resistance Movement of Iran, and says its fight for Sunni
rights in Iran.
It is also involved with the Baloch
insurgency in Pakistan.]
The president made the remark during a meeting on Saturday
with the minister of information [Heyder Moslehi], his
staff and top security officials. President Ahmadinejad said that while Iran’s
intelligence services are the most transparent in the world, he advised the
ministry to adopt a more coordinated approach and take a harder line when
dealing with classified subjects.
President Ahmadinejad warned that liberal democracy and
global hegemony, which are led by the United
States, are bent on opposing the Islamic
Revolution, and he charged them with having committed the most barbarous crimes
and atrocities under the guise of human rights.

The president advised his audience that the Revolution had
challenged and defeated materialistic schools of thought like Marxism, which
has disappeared from the world, and that capitalism is on the verge of
collapse. He said American aggression and NATO military operations in the
region are intended to save liberal democracy and the capitalist school of
thought.
President Ahmadinejad also said that the September 11th
attacks on the United States, which included the destruction of the Twin
Towers, were a big lie and part of a complex intelligence operation to provide a convincing
pretext for the "war on terrorism" and invasion of Afghanistan.
