Noam Chomsky, a leading American linguist and
political activist, is
highly critical of Israel's policies toward Palestinians.
He was barred
from entering Israel this week.

By Barring Noam Chomsky, Israeli Leaders Show Contempt for Freedom
"This
ban is regarded by many people to be a violation of freedom and a denial of personal
expression by Israel, which pretends to be an oasis of democracy. It also
represents an affront to a researcher, intellectual and philosopher considered
to be the world's most famed linguist and one of the three most prominent cultural
figures alive."
Israel recently barred Noam
Chomsky, the 82-year-old American Jewish thinker, from entering the West Bank. Israeli
customs officials prevented Chomsky, who has repeatedly criticized Israel’s
policies toward the Palestinians, from crossing the border - and this despite the
fact that Chomsky's purpose was to deliver speeches at Beer Zeit University and the Institute for Palestine Studies in
Ramallah. This ban is regarded by many people to be a violation of freedom and
a denial of personal expression by Israel, which pretends to be an oasis of
democracy in the Middle East. It also represents an affront to a researcher, intellectual
and philosopher considered the world's most famous linguist, and one of the
three most prominent cultural figures alive, according to American opinion polls.
The reason Israel barred Chomsky
is his advocacy of the Palestinians and their cause, and his efforts to expose human
rights violations against Palestinians through occupation, massacre and
terrorism. That's what prompted the Masonic-Zionist organization B'nai B'rith (Sons of
the Covenant) to describe him as the most extreme of all American citizens in
his hostility toward Israel.
Chomsky isn't the only
American Jew that Israel has refused entry due to his political positions. Israeli
authorities deported American Jewish writer Norman Finkelstein for
the same reasons upon his arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. His book, The
Holocaust Industry, is a condemnation of Israel in which he proves that
this renegade country employs to its advantage Jewish suffering at the hands of
the Nazis during WW II.

And it isn't only
Chomsky and Finkelstein that have come out against Zionism and expressing
caustic criticism of Israel. The list of Jewish thinkers and scientists without
qualms about accusing Israel of racism, Nazism and fascism is too long to
mention.
Jewish thinker and diplomat Alfred Lilienthal
might also be suggested. During the 1950s, Lilienthal gained fame in the Arab
world with books that exposed Israel's aggressive plans against Palestinians
and Arabs, particularly What
Price Israel? (1953). and There Goes the Middle East(1957).
