America Brought This War, But Iraqis Must Die In It
Iraqis are being killed on their own land in a 'war in
terror' that arrived for the first time with the landing of U.S. forces. While
the Bush Administration keeps repeating that it's better to fight ‘over there'
than in the U.S., Iraq has attracted every group that America-hating group,
and according to this article from Iraq's Azzaman newspaper, forces Iraqis to
oppose 'the occupier.'

on Saturday. Hundreds Have Been Killed in Recent Days.
To persuade Americans that the "war on
terror" is worth the price in money and human life, the U.S. administration keeps telling them that Iraq has become the hub for terrorists all over the world.
The U.S. administration says that Americans will remain safe
so long as U.S. troops remain in that country, fighting the terrorists thousands of
miles away from home.
But what the administration fails to mention
is that Iraq harbored no such terrorists before Washington's decision to invade the country and station over
130,000 troops there.
As America's Third World War rages, we Iraqis, whether we like
it or not, have become its canon fodder. Anyone with a grudge against America and everyone who hates America and likes it being preoccupied with Iraq, now has a stake in this war. As this ruinous struggle
continues, we are the ones who pay with our blood.
Washington's war on terror, now being waged on our land, is
a creation of America's invasion of our country. Because of this war, U.S. plans for a vital region in the world have been
turned upside down.

Under such circumstances there is no way
our government, no matter how well-intentioned or powerful, can succeed.
Warring parties - both pro and anti-U.S.
- have converged on our land, and for many Iraqis choosing sides is an
easy matter. Instinctively, most cannot side with the foreigners who have
come to occupy their country.
The results of circumstances like these
are not hard to predict, and cannot be favorable to Iraq.
The ten successive and highly-coordinated
suicide bombings during a single morning last week provide clear evidence
that this "war on terror" raging on our land cannot and will not be of
benefit to us. Those who paid for these reckless, brutal and inhumane bombings
were innocent Iraqi victims and no one else.
Innocent Iraqis have become this war's
cannon fodder.
