Iran's Nuclear Program a 'Tremendous Hoax'

The campaign against Iran’s
nuclear program by Western powers and the Jewish state is a tremendous hoax, a major
fraud and a treacherous trick, if not outright religious profiling. They insist
that Iran intends to build a nuclear bomb while Iran insists that its program is
solely peaceful. While the Western powers label Iran's venture as a menace to global
security, the Israelis project it as an existential threat to themselves. This
is absolute nonsense and jiggery-pokery of the most dishonest kind. Although
nuclear experts believe Iran is years away from fielding a nuclear weapon, even
if it had one today, not even the craziest of Tehran's crazy would think of
using it. The retaliation would be massive, severely punishing and irreparably
annihilative.
Sitting on fearsome nuclear
arsenals as the Americans, British and French are, not even an idiot would
think of taking them and their allies on with a bomb. Not even the West's
combined nuclear muscle would be needed - any one of them would reduce Iran to ruins
and swathes of radiation-drenched terrain. And with Israel's underground
weapons program with its scores of nuclear bombs, the Jewish state would
respond so fatally and unbearably that Iran would take years to recover. All of
this is well within the knowledge of the Western powers as well as Israel. They
are well aware of their brutal power and the colossal punishment they could
inflict on Iran, as does Tehran. This brouhaha about Iran's nuclear program that
they are dishing so feverishly is just deceitful posturing.
If the Western powers really want
to see nuclear non-proliferation, they shouldn't be selective or exceptional
about it. They must first subject themselves to what they preach for others. They
must disarm themselves in order to set the pace. But while talking about disarming,
they have been refurbishing their own nuclear assets to make them more
destructive. The British are mightily engaged with their Trident weapons and the
French with their prowess in regard to nuclear submarines. And while the Americans,
possessors of the world’s most frightening nuclear arsenal, have employed their
depleted uranium tipped weapons in Iraq, and are fabricating nuclear bunker-buster
bombs for use in battlefield. And the Israelis aren't sitting idle. They too
are sharpening their nuclear tools for added lethality and destructive power.
So with what moral standing
do they command and forbid Iran from what they themselves have indulged in and
continue to indulge in?
If the Western powers, despite
their own infringement of nonproliferation and undisguised religious profiling,
really want to pursue Iran’s nuclear program - and actually want to prevent a
nuclear arms race in the Middle East - they will not be able to spare Israel's
nuclear venture. Of course, because of geopolitical rivalries, sectarian
antipathies and territorial disputes, the Arab monarchies and autocracies are
by and large deadly opposed to Iran’s nuclear enterprise. But objectively
speaking, it is the Israeli nuclear wand that is the region's red rag. As long
as that Israeli wand exists, there will always be intruders in the region who
want to break the barrier of nonproliferation. If it was Saddam’s Iraq yesterday
and Iran today, tomorrow there will definitely be someone else.
But honesty is the last quality
one can attribute to the Western powers. The Europeans, over the guilt after
ages of mistreating Jews - especially during the Second World War; and the
Americans, because of politically and financially powerful Jewish lobbies, will
never muster the grit to call a spade a spade. In all events, they will mollycoddle Israel. But
Iran they would keep on the mat as they did Saddam’s Iraq. They have taken Iran
to the U.N. Security Council and clamped it down with a series of U.N.
sanctions. And while unleashing crippling sanctions of their own on Iran, they clamor
that the Islamic Republic is in non-compliance with the U.N. resolutions to stand
down on its nuclear program. Yet they conveniently forget that the Jewish state
has also defied over a dozen U.N. resolutions for it to vacate its occupation
of Arab lands.
But again, the Western powers
are no paragons of virtue. Their past stinks as odiously as does their sordid
present. Most European powers are erstwhile colonial expansionists who robbed
their colonies in Africa, Asia and the Americas into an utter state of
pauperism so they could prosper. And they forced the natives, mostly Africans, into
slavery and serfdom. They are the ones who threw humanity into two blood-soaked
world wars. And it is the Americans, in collusion with British nuclear science,
who unleashed the nuclear genie in the 1940s under the covert umbrella of the
Manhattan Project. And it is the Americans who have the distinction of being
the only people to have used a nuclear bomb, which they employed to turn the
bustling Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to dust at the fag end of
the Second World War.
Nonetheless, if the West and
Israel don't suddenly turn honest and pull Israel back from its intransigence
and warmongering, the world will surely yet another major conflagration involving
not only the Jewish state and the Islamic Republic of Iran, but heavens knows
who else.
