Iran will 'Stun' the Global Arrogance on the 30th Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution

Will mass rallies in Iran on the regime's 30th anniversary 'stun' the West? That is the claim being made by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who is trying to use the event to rally support for his  increasingly fragile administration.

Tehran: On Monday, the supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution and commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said that on February 11, with rallies marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, a unified Iran will stun the global arrogance.

Addressing a group of commanders and members of the Army Air Force to mark the occasion, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the allegiance shown by Air Force personnel to the late Ayatollah Khomeini on February 8, 1979, was great political event recorded in the history of the nation.

The supreme leader said that since then, thanks to the vigilance and resistance of the Iranian nation, the Islamic Revolution has succeeded in administering justice and promulgating the divine religion.

The enemies of the Islamic Revolution, including the global arrogance and Zionists, are unable to understand the spiritual nature of the Islamic Revolution. The supreme leader said and this is why they are masterminding plots and campaigns of propaganda to tarnish the image of the Revolution. But according to the supreme leader, it is to no avail.

There is no system that has faced the political and economic pressure, sanctions, or large-scale propaganda that the Islamic Revolution has faced, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the Revolution is determined to resist all of these pressures, and that the United States, Zionists and other bullying powers would be unable to shake the Revolution's pillars whether it be through threats, intimidation or political and economic means.

The secret of the Islamic Revolution lies in the peoples' trust in God Almighty, the supreme leader said, adding that whenever the people feel danger, they spontaneously take to the streets as they did on December 30 [video below].

[Editor's Note: These were government-sponsored rallies, called by the regime to counter the genuinely spontaneous anti-government rallies that broke out days before.]

The supreme leader pointed out that the enemies did their best to play down the December 30 events, but finally had to confess to this mass outpouring in support of the Islamic Revolution.

According to the supreme leader, the enemies try to find fault with the Revolution by resorting to ploys like complaints about human rights or democracy, but those who do so are ignorant about how world public opinion makes fun of them.

Actually, Ayatollah Khamenei said that world public opinion has shown outrage and anger at leaders of global arrogance, which shows that no one believes their talking points in favor of human rights or democracy. He said the so-called advocates of human rights have long ignored the most basic human rights in prisons and officially trample the rights of their own people, which is a source of shame for them.

Under the guise of democracy, they establish brotherly relations with the most brutal regimes in the Middle East region and North Africa to deceive other nations, said Ayatollah Khamenei. He said they blame Iran for a lack of democracy but ignore the fact that some 80 percent of Iran's people took part in the country’s presidential election, which proves the legitimacy of the Islamic system.

In the past 30 years, the supreme leader said, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made significant scientific progress in fields like defense, the sciences, nuclear energy and laser technology.

Referring to the events after the presidential election, when the enemies tried in vain to sow the seeds of discords among unified Iranians, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iranian unity is a thorn in the eyes of the enemies, and that Iranians are determined to proceed on the path of God and to maintain their independence.

By the grace to God, on February 11 a unified Iranian nation will once again rush to mark the 31st victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and stun the global arrogance, including the U.S., Britain and the Zionists.

The Iranian nation will conquer the peaks of success in all fields, the Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

In regard to the development and progress of the Army Air Force, the supreme leader advised the Air Force personnel to take the lead and powerfully reflect the strength of the Iranian nation. Prior to the supreme leader’s remarks, the commander of the Army Air Force, Brigadier General Hassan Shah-Safi, briefed him on the activities of his forces.
